Jake Yip, popularly known as Stewie2K and was born on January 7, 1998. He is a American professional Counter-Strike Global Offensive and he is currently signed with Team Evil Geniuses. Later he became the first North American along with his four teammates to win a Valve–sponsored major in CS:GO. He is in Pro scene, since 2015 and has gained a lot of Fame in such a short time.

Jake’s Early Life.
Jake Yip also known as Stewie2K born on January 7, 1998, in San Francisco, California.
Yip was first introduced into gaming by his brother. He picked up Counter-Strike 1.6 from his older brother. While Yip’s parents didn’t like him playing games and were often against it. And his devotion for gaming eventually ended up causing crises between him and his mother. While his Parents preferred that he should become Doctor or Lawyer. Yip’s mother thought that will be a failure and because of that Stewie finally decided on that he is leaving his house and flew to LA to pursue his career in gaming.
For some time Yip stopped playing Counter-Strike 1.6 and tried other games like MapleStory, League of Legends, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and etc. But finally, he ended up coming back to Counter-Strike 1.6. Stewie then first played Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in the summer of 2014 when one his friend gave him a copy as a gift. Soon after that he would grind hours in this game and played Competitive Matchmaking for 5 months before joining ESEA, he was also inspired by Cloud9 Videos. Additionally, he was also falsely alleged of cheating by many players, which further motivated him to Join CS:GO pro scene.
Stewie’s Career.
From the age of 17, Yip had his eyes set on becoming a professional CS: GO player, and after Sean Gares announced he was leaving cloud9, Team decided to pick up Stewie with Gares’ recommendation. And just a few hours after his 18th birthday and joined the team on January 11, 2016, as an IGL for Team Cloud9. This decision of Org was questioned and criticized by many Veteran players and Esports journalists. Thorin, questioned Yip’s addition to the Cloud9 roster as well as his potential.
In April 2018, Stewie left cloud9 and joined SK gaming. Later, SK gaming directory was signed by MIBR to play under their Organization. Then in December 2018, MIBR traded Yip to Team Liquid for TACO and head coach zews.
Jake then became the first North American to receive over $1,000,000 in tournament prize money after they fall to Astralis in the ECS Season 8 Finals and ended up being runner-up. While under Team Liquid they won many big prizes and Tournaments. Later in December 2021, he was removed from Team Liquid’s Lineup, he was picked up by Team Evil Geniuses in January 2022.
